Summer in one week!

Finally, summer (meaning the weather was good) has begun and we crammed as much as we could into one week, not knowing how long the good weather would last.

Crazy x 5

So far this has been the theme of our summer and I know it's just beginning but whoa- I'm exhausted! It's been a while since I've had a few minutes to spare to blog and right now I actually have a million things I could be doing- what's the point in cleaning? it's just messy 10 minutes later! O.k. so we started off the summer with a bang the day school got out with Icees and corndogs at the local Mav. 99 cents for any size so of course everyone got the largest!

After the icees we headed over to the primary activity filled with water games and crafts. The kids had fun. This is Jocelyn with her stick bug she made.

We were also able to take a field trip with the neighbors to the Bean museum at BYU and then headed over to the BYU creamery-YUM. The kids loved it and I had to promise we would return to both soon.

A week later we took a last minute trip ( and I mean last minute-we had 14 yards of bark sitting in our driveway and were working non stop to get it all laid in the flower beds!) Our grandpa Leatham passed away and we were able to make the trip to Ephrata for the funeral. I am so glad that we were able to go. We had so much fun amidst the sadness. Some of our highlights were seeing cousins we had not seen in about 15 years, chiccos pizza, dk drive inn, cliff jumping at sun lakes-not me -Ben,Mark and Laura, and being able to visit with Bens family also. There were some of Bens family who have never seen the last three of our kids. It was so fun to visit with them all and meet Matts fiance. So much fun and sadness also. The funeral was nice and seeing family was great. Here are a few of the pics:

We drove home that night after the funeral and made it home by 8:30 the next morning. We unloaded and started laundry and packing for pioneer trek which was the next morning with our ward. Ben and I ran around all day and at 9 pm and after a day of continuous crying, I took Owen to the instacare -he had pink ears not quite an ear infection. I was able to get a prescription though just in case my mom needed to get it filled while we were gone. Somehow we managed to be somewhat put together that night. I was a little anxious about going with Owen not feeling well and not looking forward to 5 hours of sitting in the car again but 5:30 the next morning we were on our way- Oh and that is all a story in itself! Pictures will come soon but for now Riley is wanting to go outside and I have more flowers to plant.
