Happy Birthday!

I've put off doing this post partly because I don't have much time these days and also for a loss of words. In the beginning of March my cute, dear, sweet husband turned the big 35. This year was particularly hard for me to create a great birthday for him considering the lateness of my pregnancy and 5 kids to keep me exhausted. I had great and wonderful intentions for this day for him but he patiently and gratefully accepted costco cheesecake for dessert and itunes giftcard and a day backpack (because he never has enough camping stuff-curse those scouts!) for his presents. I would have loved to go out to lunch with him but instead he settled for his work buddy Travis. I did give him a lunch time phone call just as him and travis were headed to rc willey in which they stated they were off to find the beds! How can I compete with that? ;)

The 76 on his cheesecake is the year of his birth and also because we unfortunately do not own a 3 and a 5 from prior birthdays.

I did try to make him one of his favorites for dinner- homemade rolls- just as I finished the dough, the electricity went out! Arrrgh! It turned out to be a good thing. The kids rounded up posters and I pulled out the craft bucket and they went crazy each making a part of a birthday sign. Just as it was time for the rolls to bake the electricity came on. Hooray! Ben settled for one of his favorite things- cheese on a nice warm roll. The kids on the other hand were dreaming of chuck a rama! Too bad!

Randomness

So much has been going on a our house - so much of it blogworthy I just don't have the energy to get everything done and also - It is just not comfortable to sit at the computer for too long these days! But that being said here is some complete randomness that is happening in our home and I'm grateful for it - time has flown by and I am counting down my last 6 weeks (hopefully less) of pregnancy.
Back in February Jocelyn and Ben attended the daddy daughter dance at school. From what I heard it was quite the time! She looked adorable in the skirt that I had once worn for a road show and has now been readjusted to her size. Can you say "one halloween costume already done!" I am way ahead of schedule!

She also was able to dress up as her favorite book character for school. She picked Fancy Nancy. This is her interpretation of Fancy Nancy - red hair and all!

Owen is still keeping us busy- today he swallowed a penny and about 2 minutes later used green marker on the entire wall going down the stairs! Oh my! He still doesn't talk much but his actions seem to fill the void!
Arrgh matey! One of the things he does say(go figure!-he creates havoc just ilk a pirate!)

A couple of weeks ago Ben took the 4 older kids up the canyon for some sledding (he had already gone up earlier in the day with the young men and the next few days he was feeling the burn!) Here are a couple pictures he took- for some reason he took none of Ethan and Jake but they had just as much fun as these two.

We are also getting ready for Jake to head to the state science fair next week. Him and one other girl from their school were chosen. He's pretty excited and the fact that they are giving away 60,000 dollars in prizes really got him going! Great job again Jake!
Also just a few things of cuteness from the kids. Last night as Ben and I were discussing baby names -again!- Jocelyn out of no where stood by the fridge where the ultrasound pictures were and interrupted us by saying, "what if it's just a finger or something?" meaning the boy part on the ultrasound. Ben and I busted up laughing - the girl is in total denial of another brother. So sad!
Also yesterday Riley and Jocelyn were playing the Wii and Riley comes upstairs mad and says"Jocelyn is not following my commandments!" cutest thing ever! But he was pretty upset.
